Since Semilla was founded by a the first Latin American citizen to graduate from Regent University it has enjoyed a unique positioning since the founding year, including having offices on campus for sixteen years (1990-2006), serving the University in many roles (advising and connecting officials, faculty and students with Latin America with travel, conferences, internships, partnerships and other purposes)

What is L.A.L.P.?

A partnership with Regent University, the Latin American Leadership Program (LALP) is a highly selective program which offers principled and professional training to emerging Christian leaders in Iberoamerica. The Latin American Leadership Program equips participants with a biblical worldview and promotes Christian scholarship and Biblical principles of self-government. The program also exposes scholars to a continental network of leaders in the political, economic and educational sectors of society. Through this mechanism the awarded individual becomes part of a community of Christian servant-leaders that share a vision to serve the continent and to transform their culture by the Word of God.

What are the selection criteria?

Semilla seeks LALP candidates through endorsements and recommendations. LALP candidates must be:

    • Christians who manifest leadership in a professional discipline as well as maturity in their faith, evidenced by established and accountable relationships in their local church.
    • Visionary Christian leaders with a distinct, well-articulated, strategic vision that is feasible to implement, according to recognized leaders familiar with the candidate.
    • Experienced Christian leaders with a Kingdom vision – that is, a broad vision for all the Body of Christ with the potential for impact beyond any local church or organization.
    • Christian leaders who sustain a highly disciplined standard of study and an excellent academic record.

What is the process?

Applying to the LALP Program is done through the identification and endorsement of a suitable candidate. Once a candidate is identified either the endorser or the aspiring candidate must contact Semilla at  postulantes@semilla.org and include the following data:
